Chennais Amirta International Aviation College Signs MoU with University College of Aviation Malaysia for Direct Training

08 April 2026: Chennais Amirta International Aviation College, one of India’s leading aviation training institutions, has established a strategic international collaboration with University College of Aviation Malaysia (UniCAM) to bring global aviation expertise directly to its campus. This initiative is designed to strengthen students’ practical exposure, build confidence, and equip them with industry-relevant skills for global aviation careers.

An MoU in this regard was signed here by Mr. Boomee Naathan, Chairman, Chennais Amirta group of Institutions and Mr.Umar Abdillah Anwar Dean UniCAM Malaysia, in the presence of Mr. Kalaiarasan, Chairman,Future Dream Academy Malaysia and Mr. Jainanak Singh-CEO, Future Dream Academy, Malaysia. Ms. Banumathi-COO, Mr. Suren, Dean, Dr. Rahul – Principal and Mr. Arun HOD Chennais Amirta International Aviation College also attended the event. 

As part of this collaboration, the college hosted a four-day international training programme from April 6 to 9, 2026 featuring participation from global aviation experts. The programme included lectures and workshops by aviation industry veterans and the alumni students of UniCAM focusing on: Aviation 4.0 and digital transformation; the growing role of artificial intelligence in aviation; airport operations and flight management innovations, and emerging and non-traditional career pathways in aviation. 

In his comments, Mr. R. Boomee Naathan, Chairman of the Chennais Amirta Group, said: “We are among the first colleges in South India to provide students with training at international airports as part of their academic journey. Our strong global collaborations and specialised infrastructure, including a real-life aircraft model and a miniature airport, enable immersive, practical learning. “While our primary focus has been providing world-class exposure to students across South India including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana we are now expanding our reach pan-India and will soon be establishing our presence in New Delhi.”

He also emphasised the growing demand in the aviation sector, noting that 1.5–2 lakh skilled professionals will be required by 2035 across roles such as pilots, cabin crew, engineers, and ground staff.

The institution, a part of the Chennais Amirta Aviation College, offers globally recognised programs: Bachelor’s degree in aviation (3 years); B.Sc. in Air Transport, and Diploma in Aviation and Tourism Management. Under this collaboration, students enrolled in the three-year degree and diploma programmes complete their first two years at Chennais Amirta’s campus in Chennai, followed by a structured transition to Malaysia. 

The final year comprises six months of academic training at UniCAM and a six-month internship at Malaysian airports, providing students with valuable international exposure and hands-on industry experience.

In the aviation industry, International Air Transport Association (IATA) certification is widely regarded as a global passport to aviation careers.

Chennais Amirta sets itself apart by offering zero-cost IATA training. Students receive complete training and exam preparation free of cost, unlike other institutions that charge ₹50,000 to ₹1.5 lakh. The IATA training is provided by Ms. Greeshma, All-India First Rank Holder in IATA.

Chennais Amirta continues to lead in student-centric initiatives such as education loan support for international exposure; part-time job opportunities, allowing students to earn  with strong industry integration and placement focus.
